Maximilian Thiersch first became involved in student representation as student body president at his Gymnasium in Zurich. He joined the USO in 2024 as part of the communications and publications team, where he helped strengthen visibility and outreach for student-led initiatives.
Over time, his responsibilities expanded to national coordination and policy work. Maximilian has represented Swiss students at conferences in Switzerland and across Europe, contributing to discussions on youth participation, education policy, and international exchange. He has collaborated with government institutions, participated in dialogue with national decision-makers, and helped organize large-scale events that bring together student leaders from all 26 cantons.
